I bought this skirt on clearance for $4 a few years ago. Then I forgot about it, and it sat in a drawer until last fall, when I rediscovered it and realized that it's basically the best skirt of all time. Unfortunately, however, I've only worn it twice since then. Does anyone else find lace incredibly hard to style sometimes?
Anyway, one of my life's goals has now become finding more ways to style this skirt. I welcome your advice!
I love the mixtures you have going on here. I have a similar lace skirt and I usually just wear it with a t-shirt. Lace can definitely be hard to style.

That skirt is gorgeous and a great deal for $4! Sometimes I buy things and then it takes me a little while to figure out how to style them.

I find lace hard to style sometimes too but I love it paired with plaid like you've done here - I don't think I've ever seen it before and it totally works.

I love lace so much! It's such a delicate look; and I love how you've paired it here. You could do it with a plain tshirt white or black with ballet flats, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you styled this Hannah! The gingham and boots look so cute :)

The Other Side of Gray
I love the lace skirt :) It looks great with the shirt! I don't think I've ever told you this, but you look a lot like like Emma Stone.
ReplyDeleteI love love love that skirt.
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt! Try pairing it with a bold color or neon and some neutral sandals:)
ReplyDeleteAh I hear ya I have a lace top I have worm like once but I loveee it and i have no idea how to wear it sometimes. I love this outfit though... Ill think about it and get back to you!

Lace is so hard! I really like the gingham with it. I think this skirt would be great with some spring pastels, but will also look awesome with tights, boots and a chunky sweater for fall.
ReplyDeleteI think this skirt would look mega cute with a pale pink blouse and cork wedges for spring :) I'm a new follower of yours and love your style!!!

What a FUN look, girlie! That skirt was such a great find :)
ReplyDeleteYes, lace is incredibly hard to style! It's just so... sweet. You did a great job toughening it up here, though, with the leather boots. Looks great!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful skirt, i love it! for 4$? I'm so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI'd wear it with a simple with shirt and a black blazer /jeans jacket and a beautitful necklace, or a jeans shirt and a cardigan, with a grey tshirt and a blazer, with a red shirt ...
do you need more? I'm waiting for your next outfit with it!

Thanks, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all these great ideas! You're obviously much more creative than I am :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bri :)
ReplyDeleteI think you're so right about the pale pink & wedges. Genius!
I <3 chunky sweaters. I already have fall on the brain and it's barely spring. Oops!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of neon.. now I just have to purchase some, haha.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a compliment! Thanks so much :)
ReplyDeleteI have about one million plain black & white tees, so I should be able to pull that off, haha.
ReplyDelete$4!?? amazing - love the lace + gingham combo
ReplyDeleteLove a lace skirt! $4?? You're kidding! I always feel so 9-5 when I wear mine, but I like the way you look nice and kind of casual still.
ReplyDeleteSo so so so pretty! What a beautiful skirt and $4 brand new? Wowza! I love how you kept the outfit funky- it would also be lovely with cream or pale pink top for a flirty look!
ReplyDeletei have this skirt too on sale from target a couple of summers ago :) i like pairing it with a dusty pink or cream color on top. we so have similar style!

Talk about having an eye for fashion, who knew lace will be so "IN" 4 years later ;) Looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteoooh I really like that lace skirt! I wouldn't have though about styling it with a button down but it looks amazing. I thrifted a mint lace skirt and this gives me hope I will be able to style it more than I think. I so dig this look ...and you.

Yes, I think it can be hard to style....but you did it wonderfully! Another thing you could possibly do is make it a slip of sort for a dress (skirt) that may be a tad too short....just a though!

The Mrs. and The Momma
This is an awesome lace skirt, I love how it's such an unexpected color for lace! (Lace can be hard to style, I usually revert to my chambray or military shirts, I'm always worried about it looking too 'old.') I think you styled this skirt perfectly, I really like the casual vibe your shirt and cardi give it and the boots touph up the lace.
ReplyDeleteI always like to wear my lace skirt with a plain tshirt (usually black) or a silk blouse.
