Outfit Details: Sunnies: Jessica Simpson (TJ Maxx); Cardigan: Old Navy; Button-down: Vintage (thrifted); Pants: New York & Company; Belt: Express Men (Husband's); Loafers: Bass (outlet)
When I thrifted this vintage, polka dot button-down (adorable, right?) recently, I knew I wanted to style it in a simple, preppy way. My tortoise shell wayfarers, a cardigan, and my Bass Weejuns are a few of my go-to preppy pieces, so adding them to this look was a no-brainer.
As much as I love this top, though, I'm afraid it won't end up being very versatile. What do you think? How else can I wear it?
I love the way you styled it! You can wear it with jeans and white pants or shorts in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI think that top with be plenty versatile! I'm thinking jeans and a blazer, maybe with the black pencil skirt and a cardi, and you could use some of your amazing scarf collection items to do some pattern mixing.

That polka dot blouse is so cute! I think it's more versatile than you think...I'd wear it with a pencil skirt and skinny belt for a professional look or with a cardi on top, jeans, and a scarf for a casual look.

Love that thrifted top! And it looks cute with this preppy outfit.
ReplyDeleteI think this shirt could be very versatile!! (and if you don't think so then send it my way haha). You could wear it tucked into a skirt, with wide-leg jeans, knotted over a dress...
That top is too cute! Loving your shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love your blouse and loafers :) Cute and comfy look
ReplyDeleteUm I love this top! I believe it can be totally versatile.... you can wear it with Jeans & Shorts and if you tied it it would look super cute! also with a skirt tucked in. I love it and jealous of your find! Love the loafers too!

Polkadots and a cardigan? Two of my favorite things! I'd wear the shirt tied up over a flowy dress.
ReplyDeleteNO way, it will be SO versatile! With a cute dark blue or A-line denim skirt, with a little black dress, a pair of white shorts... SO much! I really love it!
ReplyDeleteThis would go with so much! Love this top. I'd probably be mixing it with white and blue for a nautical feel or maybe some black and leather to make it a little rock n' roll.
ReplyDeleteThat top is toally cute....love that it is red!
ReplyDeletei'm obsessed with polka dots & i love the penny loafers! I think you can definitely get more wear out of the shirt! how about knotted, paired w/ a floaty white skirt during summer? or chambray shorts? :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all that last photo of you is stunning! I don't have a red polka dot blouse in my wardrobe but now I wish I did- so adorable! I love how you styled it- you could also do a feminine look with a skirt for versatility.
ReplyDeletelove the polka dotty shirt! :)

Love those shoes! And polka dots are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteCute top! I think it would go well with navy capris or a navy skirt, and would be really cute with olive pants.
ReplyDeleteLoving the subtle color blocking here. Cute outfit!

ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks! I do think a skirt would work well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have the PERFECT white skirt to wear with it.
ReplyDeleteI love nautical inspired looks. Good thinkin'.
ReplyDeleteI think a pair of white shorts will be the next item I pair the top with..
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I'm excited to see it :)
